- Slow heating The system takes much longer than it used to to warm up.
- Noisy boiler Banging or kettling from the boiler or the pipework.
- Discoloured water Dark brown or black water when you bleed a radiator: that is sludge.
- Before a new boiler Most manufacturers want the system flushed to protect the warranty on a new boiler.
- 5+ years since the last flush If it’s never been done, it almost certainly needs doing.
